Saas Cloud Mobile Enablement

CLOUD ENABLEMENT

Do you plan to build applications which are not only scalable but have high availability as well? Along with developing the applications, you must also have an infrastructure that can support them. You may need to add servers or increase the capacities of existing ones, have redundant hardware, add logic to the application to handle distributed computing, and add logic for failovers. You have to do this even if an application is in high demand for only short periods of time.

The cloud offers a solution to this dilemma. The cloud which is made up of interconnected servers located in various data centres, presents a viable option for organizations seeking to reduce the complexity within their IT environments by means of systems that are offsite entirely. By shifting the responsibility of maintaining an infrastructure to someone else, you're free to concentrate on what matters most: the application.

At Megartha we can work with a public cloud provider like Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2, Google Apps and help you migrate enterprise applications or portals deployed on diverse platforms. We have expertise in designing cloud based solutions for applications built on top of different technology stacks e.g. Microsoft technologies, Java, and various databases like Oracle, DB2 or MySQL etc. We can also help you combine the enterprise applications or SaaS based services from various companies with applications deployed in the cloud platform of choice.

SAAS ENABLEMENT

Software as a service (SaaS), sometimes referred to as "on-demand software," is becoming an increasingly effective and popular way to implement various business applications. This delivery approach has gained traction in application areas where there is value to "networked" or integrated functions within the application. As per Sharon Mertz, Research director at Gartner "The adoption of SaaS continues to grow and evolve within the enterprise application markets as tighter capital budgets in the current economic environment demand leaner alternatives, popularity increases, and interest for platform as a service and cloud computing grows.”

The composition of the worldwide SaaS landscape is evolving as vendors continue to extend regionally, increase penetration within existing accounts and "greenfield" opportunities, and expand their solution offerings, either organically or through acquisition. During the past 12 months to 18 months, Gartner has observed shifts in how SaaS is sold, consumed and perceived by vendors and buyers. Worldwide software as a service (SaaS) revenue within the enterprise application software market is forecast to reach $9.2 billion in 2010, up 15.7 percent from 2009 revenue of $7.9 billion, according to Gartner, Inc. The market is projected for stronger growth in 2011 with worldwide SaaS revenue totaling $10.7 billion, a 16.2 percent increase from 2010 revenue.

At Megartha we understand the challenges to make a software product SaaS-enabled are as complex and important as building a new product. Megartha has the proven capability of delivering, designing, architecting and testing a wide variety of SaaS applications and products, across verticals. Implementing security in SaaS models is a challenge, especially when the database is shared by more than one organization. Along with security some of the other challenges are Data-isolation and transactions, Multi-tenancy, Sharing resources, Auto Scaling and Configuration, Deployment strategies, Auditing and Billing & payments. As part of our Saas enablement services, the first component is a business consulting assignment, called “SaaS Business Planning” , designed to help companies to examine the SaaS business model for their own market and services. The engagement covers business planning, market research & analysis, application readiness evaluation and includes a SaaS business case and a working prototype. The latter can be used to acquire working capital for development phases, or can be presented to potential clients for buy-in and feedback.

The second component is a “SaaS Architecture Assessment” , which provides technical recommendations related to the issues that will affect the deployability, performance, scalability, manageability and security of the application, such as application architecture, tenancy and provisioning model options, integration requirements, database design, infrastructure architecture, development platform, and usability.

The third component is “SaaS Product Development” services using resources of the Megartha Development Centre leveraging cost-effective software development resources experienced in building SaaS applications. The development team is experienced with multiple Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) rapid development tools.

MOBILE ENABLEMENT

Mobile applications for business use are receiving a great deal of attention from business process professionals.. The opportunity to deploy mobile applications for enterprise business processes has changed dramatically in the last two to three years. Rapidly evolving mobile technology, creating a frenzy of consumer adoption, has now migrated to business use. Year 2010 was when mobile application development actually crossed the chasm from early adopters to mainstream application development.  Now nearly every company faces growing demand from customers, partners and employees to deliver web content, services and applications to mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets, e-readers, and navigation systems.
